Doctrinal Formation

Doctrinal formation seeks to develop a person’s understanding and appreciation of the Catholic faith, which is rooted in God’s revelation and embodied in the living tradition of the Church.  Doctrinal formation involves imparting an knowledge of Catholic theology, Church teaching, and faith practices. It also includes developing skills to apply that knowledge in interactions with others and an ability to articulate the faith of the Church in their own words (reflecting their own critical thought about and working out of those concepts). Specific areas covered include but are not limited to Sacred Scripture, the Catechism, Church history, and the foundational teachings of the Church.
